    in this episode you mentioned that your ‘jungle antenna’, a 1/4 wave ground plane, has roughly 6db of gain. not true… unless we’re talking in comparison to the rubber duck antenna most HTs come with; i.e. a dummy load. in actuality it has about 1.14-1.21db of gain, scarcely a little over unity and a ittle less than a 1/2~ dipole.
